Can I manage Office 365?
Yes, our Network Management Tools compliment the software provided by Microsoft to simplify the management of user licenses and additional configuration requirements.
Do I have to reboot to install new software and packages?
No, unlike other methods for deploying software the Network Management Tools will allow you to push software to workstation even while they are being used, or schedule it to deploy out of hours if required.
Will I need System Center too?
No, the Network Management Tools can replace most of the functions that SCCM has to offer as well as offer additional functionality that may be more suitable to a school environment. As the Management Tools have been written to compliment Microsoft tools, they will run alongside SCCM if you feel you need both products.
How does remote station rebuilding work?
Remote station rebuilding leverages standard technologies from Windows Deployment Services and allows an administrator to send a command to a single or multiple workstations to initiate a reinstall of the chosen operating system from the network.
Does BCX Manager work with Windows 10?
Yes, we recommend use in conjunction with ClassicShell to give end users the standard start menu they have been used to for so many years. With the number of applications that schools generally use, the layout of the start menu in Windows 10 can appear busy and confusing to users and ClassicShell can provide a more recognisable layout, while still giving all the additional benefits of using Windows 10.
Does BCX work with User Account Control?
Yes, and we recommend you use it. Applications in Windows 10 generally require UAC to be enabled, and UAC offers extra protection against security threats. Any part of our software that needs elevated permissions will prompt when required.
Which systems can I use MIS Compare with?
Currently developed to work with Sims.NET and Facility CMIS, however you can also export from others as a CSV to import user details. We are looking to add more MIS types, so contact us if you have a different system and would be willing to let us tailor our product to fit your MIS Compare requirements.
How have BCX Network Management Tools been developed?
The first release of BCX Management Tools was in 2009 and ever since day one the development has always been led by feedback from Technicians and Network Managers. As networks and software requirements have grown more complex the software has expanded, but this ethos of customer led developments has stayed and almost all aspects of the current version of the tools are born out of customer requests.

Can it manage Apple iOS/OS X or other devices?
No, we believe that other product offerings are already good enough without the need for building on them. Burconix has experience of other Mobile Device Management solutions such as Meraki if this is something you require.
What is annual maintenance?
The Network Management Tools are continually evolving and to ensure all our customers have the latest versions and features available to them we offer two different ways for them to stay up-to-date. The software can either be purchased outright, and then an annual maintenance fee paid to entitle the system to be updated, or it can be purchased as a subscription agreement paid for annually.
Since the launch of version 3 in Autumn 2015 we have added MIS Compare, AV Information and more compatibility with new products like Windows 10 and Azure AD Connect.
